A- A A+

‘The Keys’ is a group of islands – an ‘archipelago’ – in Florida, USA. But why does it have this name? Well, the Spanish called it “Cayos” meaning “Small Islands” – and this name sounded like “Keys” to Americans.

The architecture in Florida Keys, main island in Key West, is peculiar. There aren’t big buildings, the houses and restaurants have a simple structure and the beach is just beautiful.

Yes, it’s true: traveling from Miami to Key West takes some hours. But don’t give up: after driving through many bridges you will arrive at the last Key and eat great food !

This post was kindly written by Enjoy student Ana Carla, as she and her cousin Suzana traveled from Miami to Key West last year. Thank you Ana for helping us expand our Key culture!
