A- A A+

Idioms não são exactly o que parecem ser. Conheça some new idioms:

A sitting duck = um alvo bem easy

(Because ducks são alvos bem easy para os hunters quando estão sitting no chão ou na water).

Eg: Don’t be a sitting duck, take care when walking alone at night.

A cat fight = a fight entre two women

(Because women, quando fight, parecem dois crazy cats!)

Eg: Ana and Susan were almost into a real cat fight.

The head honcho = the boss

(Because in Japanese, a palavra 班長 (Hanchou ) significa ‘group leader‘. Ela foi aprendida pelos American soldiers e trazida aos USA after World War II.)

Eg: John is the company’s new head honcho.
