Fat Tuesday is a holiday that starts after the Three Kings  Day and before Ash Wednesday. It’s also called Mardi Gras – or ‘Carnival’.

Masked children

_Carnival is mainly celebrated in the South of the USA. But in New Orleans it is special. There are many masked balls for children and adults, and colorful parades too.

Parade watchers shout ‘Throw me something, Mister!‘ Then the float occupants throw plastic necklaces and Mardi Grass coins to them.
