Some parts of your car don’t need to be checked too frequently. Others need to go through preventive maintenance every 6 months – or 10.000 km. Do you think it’s not necessary? Well, most Brazilians do. Maybe that’s why one out of three car accidents in Brazil is due to lack of maintenance. Here you’ll learn more about some parts you must check frequently:
Must be replaced each 2 years, 40,000 km or each time you change the brake pads;
In most cars they must be changed every 10,000 km or 6 months. The automatic transmission oil and filter must be replaced every 40,000 or 50,000 km;
Must be replaced or cleaned every 40,000 km or 2 years. In some cars we must use a solution of 50% water and 50% additive; in other cars we must use only additive;
In some cars it must be replaced every 30,000, 40,000, 60,000 or 100,000 km. In case of worn or inoperative spark plugs, the car might have high fuel consumption;
There are other items that need to be checked too (for instance: fuel filter, air filter and cabin filter). I’ll be glad to write about them at another post.
