A- A A+

Contables são aqueles objects que conseguimos count com numbers. Geralmente eles tem singular and plural forms:

an apple
(Pronunciation: ên é-pôu)

two apples
(Pronunciation: tsu é-pôus)

Uncountables são aquelas things que não conseguimos count com numbers. Example:  liquids, ideas, qualities or very small objects.

Os uncountables normalmente não tem plural form:

tea
(Pronunciation: )

sugar
(Pronunciation: -gar)

love
(Pronunciation: lóvvv)

But… Pay attention! Algumas coisas são consideradas countable in Portuguese mas uncountable in English.

Examples: bread, information, advice. Neste caso, don’t use ‘a’, use ‘any‘ or ‘some‘:

Can you buy some bread, please?

She didn’t see any information.

This is my advice for you: stop watching TV, go study English!
