A- A A+

Last Monday você aprendeu  the difference entre Begin and Start. Today vamos aprender the difference entre os verbs Borrow and Lend .

Many people have this doubt. And the answer é very simple: Borrow and Lend são o mesmo verb, mas em “directions” opostas:

– Hi Sarah, será que posso borrow your car tonight?

– Sorry Jack. Sempre que eu lend my car to you, ele volta todo amassado!

O car é da Sarah. Portanto a Sarah pode Lend her car to her friend Jack. Já o Jack não tem car – por isso ele quer Borrow the car from his friend Sarah.

So: Lend = give TO ; Borrow = take FROM.
